The editors of ePractice.eu have named the case “Regional EHRs with speech recognition in Galicia, Spain” their choice for the week. The project, which has been covered by so2say authors, highlights how Sergas, the Gallician Health Service, uses speech recognition to facilitate the implementation of electronic health records. Meanwhile, 14 secondary and tertiary care centers have access to the Galician EHR network, which means they can store and validate - via digital signature - clinical documents such as radiology, pathology and surgery reports. Primary care centers have also been involved since 2006. They use the EHR network both for electronic prescriptions and EHR support.
